Location: Boulder, Colorado or Northwest Denver Metro
Type: Management; Volunteer
Reports to: Event Manager
About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate, pop-culture-savvy Community Manager to be the voice and heartbeat of our comic convention on the ground. You’ll build, engage, and grow our partnerships with brands and the community in Boulder. You’ll work across digital platforms, foster relationships with local brands, creators, and partners, and help shape the financial foundation of our event.
If you speak fluent fandom, thrive on interaction, and know how to turn buzz into loyalty, this is your moment.
Responsibilities
Community Engagement: Represent Boulder Fan Fest at other local and regional conventions, network and build relationships with Boulder based geek and pop-culture brands, creatively find ways to grow the Boulder Fan Fest brand in the community, and coordinate live streams, AMAs, and countdowns to build hype.
Sponsorship Engagement: Work with local brands to bring in sponsorship revenue, partner with brands to build custom sponsorship packages and opportunities, and bring in revenue, promotional items, and products to support the foundation.
At The Event: Ensure sponsor agreements are fulfilled, create a welcoming environment for our partners and sponsors, and work with vendors to gain product and materials to benefit the foundation.
Time Commitment
The Community Manager will be expected to meet with event leadership 1-2 times a month between November 2025 and August 2026 and then weekly from September 2026 to the event.
Leading Up to Event: Dependent on ability to land partnerships, sponsorships, and participate in events
Week Of Event: 12-15 Hours
Weekend Of Event: Full Time
Perks & Compensation
Includes backstage access to one of the coolest fandom events of the year. A chance to work with creators, artists, and industry legends. Free passes, swag, and maybe even a cape (no promises). A chance to shape the voice of a growing pop culture movement.
Like other comic conventions and festivals, our roles are all volunteer positions. We hope to eventually compensate for management roles once the Better Feelings Foundation’s fundraising goals are regularly met.
